Carlos Gutierrez, SEÑOR SNAKE (he/him)

Mexican baritone Carlos Gutiérrez Valenzuela is originally from the city of Tijuana, Baja California. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from the Escuela de
Formación Escénico Vocal Ja’sit. He is currently continuing his training with the international baritone Genaro Sulvarán..

 

He has performed the roles of Ramiro in L'heure espagnole, Peter in Hänsel und Gretel, the Marquis in La traviata, Marcello and Schaunard in La Bohème, and Silvio in Il Pagliacci. On the symphonic stage, he was the principal soloist in J.S. Bach’s Cantata No. 147 with the Baja California Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Armando Pesqueira. He was a featured artist at the 2024 edition of the Morelia International Summer Opera Festival (ISOFOM), performing the roles of Masetto and the Commendatore in Mozart’s Don Giovanni.


Internationally, he made his debut in 2024 with the Pacific Lyric Association Opera
performing the role of Silvio in Il Pagliacci, followed in 2025 by his appearance with Teatro
Lírico D'Europa in their production of Madama Butterfly. Recently, he has collaborated with
Cinballera Entertainment in the role of The Husband in Menotti’s Amelia Goes to the Ball
and as Sharpless in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.


In September 2025, he will debut in the title role of Don Giovanni by W.A. Mozart, in
collaboration with Ópera de Tijuana and Ópera de México, under the stage direction and
production of bass-baritone Arturo Rodríguez Torres.
